Floating Bridge in the Falkland Islands

A 584-foot-long Series S-70 floating bridge assembly provided Noble Energy access to shore from deep draft supply vessels in the Falkland Islands. The Flexifloats® supported primarily 80,000-pound truckloads. Noble installed a timber roadway on the barge deck and mounted steel access ramps at both ends for the bridge. 24-inch-diameter piling was used in conjunction with Spudwell attachments for anchoring in swift currents.
