Drill Barge on the Fox River in Illinois

A Series S-50 spud barge was designed for Case Foundation to support a 100-ton Manitowoc 3900 crawler crane that was equipped with a drill attachment to install foundation shafts into an existing spillway for the construction of a pedestrian bridge. Four spuds were utilized on the slotted barge to help resist the torque generated by the drilling operation and swift currents.
